Deputation Report June 2009

Dear Pastors, Churches and Friends,

After several weeks in Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky, LeeOra and I returned back to Flagstaff, Arizona to close up our home and put our belongings into storage. As a result of our termination from the Christian Camp, where we were supposed to work during the summer months, we had to take time away from deputation in order to move out of the house that had been part of our salary. The directors of the camp did not approve of the amount of time we were spending on deputation during the off season and forced us to choose either or the job or our calling. It was not a hard decision and we are now fully trusting in the Lord and his churches rather than a job to meet our needs. He has always been faithful and we have no reason to doubt Him now.

We thank Pastor Darryl Sparks and Dearborn Baptist Church for letting us stay for several weeks in their church backyard while we presented our burden in the Tri-state area. We had services with Pastor Larry Schmaltz, Faith Baptist; Pastor Jim Love, Southland Missionary; Pastor Terry Zeller, Bible Way Missionary Baptist; Pastor Darrel Horsely, Tempe Baptist and Pastor Don Stayton at Bible Baptist Church. We also attended one conference in Ohio and two in Kentucky.

We then traveled to Tennessee for services with Pastor Gary Smith at Faith Baptist and Pastor Thomas Fortner at Berea Baptist. Finally we traveled back to Texas to spend a week with Pastor Jonathan McCullough and Evergreen Baptist in Jonesboro, Tx., which had recently voted to take us on for support. We also want to thank Lighthouse Baptist in Antioch for allowing us to park our travel trailer for a week in their parking lot.

LeeOra and I are constantly amazed at the miracle of God’s provision while we are walking (driving a pick-up) in faith. We lost our home and job due to the imperative of deputation and God, through a family my grandfather Van George touched through his ministry, provided a travel trailer to live in. We had to store all our worldly possessions in a 10 x 20 foot storage shed (yes it all fit believe it or not) and God provided a man who we ministered to when he was in High School to pay for it. We are still paying off our original deputation vehicle and God provided someone at our home church to pick up the payments for it. I didn’t even have the foresight to pray for most of these things but what God provided through these wonderful people has far exceeded what we had prayed for when voicing our needs to Him.

We are now in our 14th month of deputation and our support has leveled off at around $1000.00 per month. We had hoped to take two years to finish deputation but the present economy may preclude that plan. We are still setting a goal of $4000.00 a month and will evaluate where we are and where we need to be at the end of our 2nd year of deputation. Pleas pray for open doors, open hearts and open wallets as we continue on the open road for church planting in northern Arizona.

With Our Prayers.
Kris and LeeOra Minefee
