Smooth Autumn Sailing

The Lord has continued in his blessings as we continue in our deputation.  We have now been on the trail for about 19 months and we have seen Gods leading and provision in ways that we never would have imagined.
We now have 13 supporting churches the newest one being Addyston Baptist in Addyston, Ohio where Brother David Pitman is the pastor. This great church with such a great history has joined us in looking to the future by partnering in planting churches in America.

We began November by parking the trailer next to Leagueville Baptist Church in East Texas and filling in as pastor for three weeks. The real Pastor, Tom Bragdon had the chance to go on a once in a lifetime cruise through the Mediterranean and then to the Holy Land. I rearranged an appointment was able to enjoy being a pastor again for awhile. It was a true pastoral experience with Sermons, Bible Studies a wedding, hospital visitation and two funerals (only one of which I performed.) LeeOra and I had the pleasure of getting to know the wonderful church members up close and personal and are so thankful for each home cooked meal and gift. The church took great care of us in every way imaginable and we truly fell in love with them all.
In the middle of our stay we attended the Country View Baptist Fall Fellowship, where Bro Sam Bynum and wife Karen minister. The fellowship with the pastors and the messages were a real time of refreshment for us and we look forward to the future when we can see these fine servants of the Lord again.
After leaving Leagueville we parked the trailer at our home church in Santa Fe, Texas and prepared for the end of the year appointments which were all in Texas. I preached at Northwest Baptist Church in North Houston on the 15th of November to a faithful church contending with the recent loss of their beloved pastor Leland Lanier. Bro. Lanier pastor the church for many years and his home going has left the church with a huge hole. The response to the message was tender and genuine as they truly understand how much they are dependent upon the Lord at this time. Please keep them in your prayers as they continue to search for a pastor.

Our final appointment for the month was in Beaumont, Texas at Creekwood Baptist Church under the leadership of Jeremy Nobles with his helpmeet Cristy. Jeremy and Cristy were both students when I was the Chancellor of their Bible College in Dallas several years ago. It is gratifying to see them both still faithfully serving the Lord when so many others have chosen a less difficult path.
We have enough appointments to finish out December plus a couple in 2010 already. Please pray as we come to the final leg of our deputation and seek God’s leadership for the rest our journey of faith in planting a church in northern Arizona.
